Remember our fabric fundraiser for Uganda? Early in 2021, pandemic lockdown impacted rural families dramatically. And the quilters stepped up, purchasing fabric donated by the Toomy family and donating cash that paid for food delivery in rural Uganda.
I received photos from this spring that I wanted to share with you. These families appreciated assistance as they adapted in this stressful and sad time. With little access to vaccinations, the pandemic continues to confine people to their homes and neighborhoods. Thank you for all of your support, and please contact me if you’d like to help make a difference.
Back from vacation and ready to quilt! It’s exciting to know that the Massachusetts COVid guidance changed while I was gone. At this time, I’m fully vaccinated, but believe I can offer the safest quilting experience by keeping up the COVid protocols I adopted a while back.
What does the Burlington Electric Quilters COVid safe environment include?
We’ve always been open by appointment only and will remain this way.
Masks over nose and mouth for everyone inside the studio.
Hand sanitizer available for everyone.
Yes, this is more conservative than the current guidance, but many of you have health concerns. I want to provide the safest studio for all quilters. I’m happy to keep up the protocols that have kept Burlington Electric Quilters a healthy place during the pandemic.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Looking forward to seeing your quilts and you soon!
Woo-hoo, we’re going on vacation! The studio will be closed from May 24 to June 2 while we visit some of our favorite spots and people out west. We’ll be back on June 3rd, hope to see you then!
If you have ever thought about making a t-shirt quilt, check out this tutorial. It will show you from start to finish, how to incorporate those favorite t-shirts into a fun memory quilt.
We are raising funds to support Ugandans who are locked down due to Covid-19 and can’t work. The money sent to them is used to buy food and supplies to keep them from starving.
Thanks to the generous donations of the Toomey family, we have lots of fabric available – fat quarters by the dozen, yardage in many different sizes and styles, kits and collections, panels, and scraps. Select what you want, pay a small (or large!) donation, start a new project and help our friends in Uganda.
You may leave cash in the bag or Venmo the amount
of your donation to @Louise-Rains-1.
The Pantograph Catalog contains thumbnails of all the different pantographs available for our hand-guided Gammill machines, from Urban Elementz. We will order pantographs on a limited basis for you – please give us at least a week’s lead time before your rental appointment.
Jax is a bit more advanced, but the points are gently rounded and the design flows under your machine.
Be the first to use this and we’ll post a picture of the pattern on your quilt!
